Meeting Jonathan Rogers

Jennifer is already helping things come together and pick up steam in just the past month. She suggested I meet with a director she knows and has worked with in the past — Jonathan Rogers. He’s a musician-turned-director and has worked on all kinds of videos and short films.

Jonathan and I met at Ugly Mugs this morning. He came prepared with a synopsis for two interwoven “vignettes” for the middle two songs on the album: Exterior and Interior. We talked about the characters in each vignette, and they really spoke to my own experiences that had led me to write these two, very different songs.

It’s so exciting to talk about this stuff! It’s looking at songwriting from a whole new angle.
